Why Choose PolyJet Multi-Material 3D Printing for Dental?

Dental labs are embracing material jetting printing technology for its variety of advantages:

• Streamlined workflow: eliminate the need to switch materials between runs, save time, and reduce labor touchpoints.

• On-demand printing: print what you need, when you need it, to streamline inventory management.

• Safe 3D printing environment: resins stored in closed canisters eliminate operators’ exposure to uncured resins, ensuring a safer workspace.

• Full curing during Print: parts are fully cured during the printing process, which minimizes geometrical distortion, and requires only cleaning and minimal post-processing.

How it Works: TrueDent Monolithic Dentures

CAD models are transformed into a printable format and a technician digitally assigns shades. TrueDent base color resins are loaded into the J5 DentaJet printer, then precisely deposited onto the build platform and layered to form the required geometry in the designated digital shade. UV-curing during printing bonds the layers and sets the geometrical structure. Upon completion of the print job, support structures encapsulating each part are removed using a water jet.

How Multi-Material 3D Printing Works

Dental application CAD models are loaded into GrabCAD, where specific biocompatible materials are assigned to each application. Parts are then automatically nested and supported. PolyJet material jetting precisely deposits resins onto the tray to produce a wide range of applications at the same time, including models, surgical guides, and gingiva masks. The support material encasing each part ensures geometrical accuracy. The parts are UV-cured during the print cycle and after removal of support structures, the application is ready for use.
